Frequently Asked Questions

Who founded Spice Isle Craft Chocolate?

Tevon Pierre founded Spice Isle Craft Chocolate to create small-batch, handcrafted chocolate that highlights Grenada’s cocoa heritage.

How did Spice Isle Craft Chocolate start?

Spice Isle was founded to showcase the natural flavour of Grenadian cocoa. The brand grew from a passion for small-batch, handcrafted chocolate and a desire to connect the farm to the finished bar.

Why focus on Grenadian cocoa?

Grenada produces exceptional cocoa, yet single-origin Grenadian chocolate is rare. Cocoa is sourced directly from family farms and cooperatives to ensure quality and support local communities.

How is the chocolate made?

Spice Isle uses traditional bean-to-bar methods. Each batch is handcrafted with careful attention to roasting, grinding, and conching to highlight the unique flavours of the beans.

What makes this chocolate different from mass-produced chocolate?

Our chocolate is small-batch and made from real cocoa beans, without shortcuts or artificial ingredients. The result is smooth, rich dark chocolate with less bitterness than typical dark chocolate, featuring flavour notes of chocolatey, dark sugars, ripe fruit, and cinnamon.

Is Spice Isle working toward farm-to-bar chocolate?

Yes. The brand is developing methods to ferment and dry cocoa directly, with the goal of fully farm-to-bar production in the future.

What is Spice Isle Craft Chocolate’s mission?

The mission is to create high-quality, handcrafted chocolate while honouring Grenadian cocoa, teaching people about cocoa farming, and supporting ethical sourcing practices.

What is the philosophy behind Spice Isle Craft Chocolate?

Spice Isle is about care, craft, and connection. From growing cocoa as a child to making chocolate as an adult, we aim to share a full-circle chocolate experience that celebrates the beans, the farmers, and the joy of small-batch, handcrafted chocolate.
